Cheltenham 2024 Fixtures, Meetings And Changes

The BHA have released the fixtures for 2024 and this will see some big changes with the aim of growing racing in the UK and helping its prestigue abroad.  Cheltenham is a big part of that and as Cheltenham already hosts many premier race meetings the fixture list is largely unchanged on previous years (see below).

Some races have moved around to try to balance out the calendar a bit more, with the jump racing pattern committee announcing several changes earlier this year.  For example, the Grade 2 Sharp Stakes has been moved from the November Meeting to October’s Showcase Meeting to add a graded race to that program.  In place the November meeting has a new listed race over 3 miles.

The Grade 2 International will now be run during Festival Trials Day in late January having moved from the International Meeting in December.  This has also caused a name change as a result with the International Meeting rebranded to the Christmas meeting.  A listed race has also been removed from the New Years Day program along with the Grade 2 Dipper Chase.
